| Sega revealed Hatsune Miku Next (tentative name), which will be heading to both PS3 and PS Vita, the two versions will have the same content but slightly different control scheme, the Vita version will take advantage of the touch controls. Producer Hayashi Seiji and director Makoto Osaki explained that the reason is to get as many people to play the game as possible, and the different control scheme will give player different experience between the two versions.
Development of the title began after the team finished Hatsune Miku Project Diva 2nd Extend for PSP, and the team is focusing on the Vita version first; the game will have new gameplay elements like scratch move, in which you have to rub the screen when star icons cover the melody icons. Another new element is the Chance Time system, allow you to enter this mode during play time when your star gauge is full.
The PS Vita version is scheduled for a summer 2012 release in Japan, followed by the PS3 version in early 2013.
